Built in 1973, Hakushu is Suntory�s second distillery. Located amidst the deepest forests of Mt. Kaikomagatake in the Japanese Southern Alps, it is without question one of the highest in the world. Known as �the fresh Japanese whisky,� Hakushu is an herbal and gently smoky single malt. This 18 Year has been described as a massive step up in quality from the standard Hakushu 12 Year. It is well defined, with rounded fruit and cereal flavors, at times reminiscent of the finest potstill Irish whiskies.
